Sharron Davies MBE, Motivational Speaker, Swimming Champion, Olympic Silver Medallist, Commonwealth Gold Medallist, TV Presenter, Children's Charity Campaigner, Sharron Davies MBE is Britain’s most successful all round swimmer. Born in Plymouth, Sharron was at the age of 13, the youngest member of the 1976 Olympic team in Montreal, and the oldest member of the 1992 Barcelona Olympic team. Her international career stretched over an incredible twenty years and she broke or re-broke over 200 British records during her career. Sharron was the double Commonwealth Gold Medallist at just 15 years old, and the Olympic Silver medallist, only beaten by an East German, who was later found to be drug aided. During her swimming career, most of her days consisted of around 4 – 6 hours of training, often starting at 5am in the morning! Sharron still works out regularly in order to stay fit, but believes in moderation and a sensible healthy lifestyle. After a media break of eight years, due to the sport turning professional and no trust funds, Sharron returned to international swimming and again won the Commonwealth silver and bronze medals. She also became the ladies captain and won two world cups as well as setting a British record, that stood for over 25 years. In 1993, Sharron Davies was awarded the MBE by the Queen. Sharron has helped to raise over £10 million pounds for different charities over the last 15 years, with her event Swim 4 life, and remains committed to children’s issues and well being, with the fight against childhood obesity which she believes is a huge problem that we need to discuss. Sharron Davies is the ultimate Olympian. She has attended nine Olympic Games, three as an athlete and six as a broadcaster, and has unparalleled experience over the past 35 years as a competitor and broadcaster. Sharron will be a key part of the BBC commentary team in 2012 and is used by the BBC and the Government as an Athletes representative in planning 2012. She most recently starred in the 2010 series of Dancing on Ice.

Client Comments

"We very much enjoyed Sharon's company at our conference. She was a great hit with our audience, and won them over with her life story which very much hit home to people the necessary attributes needed to be a winner. Not many people leave our auditorium with a standing ovation, but Sharron did.”
